Αφορμή δεν αποτέλεσαν τα φαντασμαγορικά πυροτεχνήματα που έπεσαν και εκεί με την αλλαγή του χρόνου, αλλά η παρουσία πολλών Ελλήνων celebrities που ταξίδεψαν εκεί για να κάνουν το ρεβεγιόν της Πρωτοχρονιάς.

Ωστόσο οι εικόνες που ανεβάζουν στα social media, προκάλεσαν αντιδράσεις στην Ελλάδα με αποτέλεσμα το Twitter να πάρει... φωτιά.
