Lena Samaras, Daughter of Former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Dies at 34
Lena Samaras, the daughter of former Greek prime minister Antonis Samaras and Georgia Samaras, has passed away at the age of 34. She suffered cardiac arrest late Thursday and was taken to Evangelismos Hospital in Athens, where she was pronounced dead.
A graduate of Athens College in 2008, Lena later studied civil engineering at City, University of London.
News of her death prompted condolences from across the political spectrum. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis described the loss as “sudden and profoundly unjust,” adding that he and his wife Mareva extend their thoughts to the Samaras family.
PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis also expressed his sympathies, saying the announcement brought “deep sorrow” and wishing the family strength during this difficult time.
