PPC Earns ISS STOXX “Prime” Status Following New ESG Rating Upgrade

PPC Group has achieved ISS STOXX “Prime” status following an upgrade to its ESG Corporate Rating, recognizing progress in sustainability, decarbonization, governance and the energy transition.

English

PPC Group (Public Power Corporation) has secured “Prime” status from ISS STOXX, marking another step forward in the Greek energy group's environmental, social and governance performance.

The distinction follows a new upgrade in PPC's ESG Corporate Rating, reflecting the company's progress in areas ranging from the energy transition and decarbonization to corporate governance and sustainable investment.

The “Prime” designation is awarded to companies that meet demanding sustainability standards within their respective industries and is widely used by international investors as an indicator of strong ESG performance.

Recognition of PPC's Transformation

The latest rating comes as PPC continues one of the most significant transformations in its history, moving away from its traditional dependence on lignite and investing heavily in renewable energy, modern electricity networks and cleaner forms of power generation.

Over the past several years, the Group has accelerated investments in solar and wind power, energy storage, electric mobility and digital infrastructure, while expanding its presence beyond Greece.

The company has also placed decarbonization at the heart of its long-term strategy, with the gradual phase-out of lignite forming a central part of its transition toward a cleaner energy portfolio.

Why “Prime” Status Matters

ISS STOXX assesses companies against a broad range of environmental, social and governance criteria, taking into account both their exposure to ESG risks and the way those risks are managed.

Achieving “Prime” status places PPC among companies considered to meet sector-specific sustainability requirements.

For investors, particularly those incorporating ESG criteria into their decisions, such ratings can play an increasingly important role when assessing a company's long-term prospects and risk profile.

PPC Pushes Ahead With Green Investment

The upgrade comes at a time when PPC is pursuing an ambitious investment plan aimed at strengthening its position as a leading clean-energy group in Southeast Europe.

Renewables, electricity grids, storage and customer-focused energy services are becoming an increasingly important part of its business, while its regional expansion has given the company a broader footprint outside the Greek market.

The latest ISS STOXX assessment adds another international recognition to that transformation, as PPC seeks to combine growth with lower emissions and stronger sustainability standards.
